Weekly Homework Assignments
Homework: In order to help families facilitate manageable homework routines, our classes will be following a weekly homework schedule. Please try your best to encourage your child to have their completed homework with them on these days. This expectation applies for personal absences as well.
Math: On Tuesdays your child will be given a math worksheet that will reinforce work that has been taught in class. The student is to complete the worksheet and return it by Monday.
Writing Journals: A weekly writing assignment will go home every Tuesday. Journals are to be returned Monday. Five students will be chosen to present their writing on Monday. The four chosen students are expected to practice delivering their writing at home in preparation for Monday's presentation. They will be graded on their oral presentation (e.g., eye contact, expression and speaking at an appropriate volume). A sample rubric is pasted on the back page of their journal book. Please see the Weekend Journal tab for the topic and a list of presenters.
Reading and math: Days when your child is not assigned a specific homework task please encourage them to enjoy a book or read on Raz-Kids for 15-20 minutes, alternatively they should work on Dreambox to practise their math skills.
